Compare the Gesso Transform Executive Desk and ESI S2S Height Adjustable Desktop Workstation on storage, sit-stand range, and footprint to pick the right height adjustable desk.
Quick answer
Choose the Gesso Transform Executive Desk if you want a full executive desk with built-in storage and shelving plus sit-to-stand capability. Choose the ESI S2S Ergonomic Height Adjustable Desktop Workstation if you already have a desk you like and want to add standing without replacing it.
The core trade-off: full desk replacement vs. desktop conversion
The Gesso Transform is a complete executive desk with storage and shelving, so it replaces your current desk and adds sit-to-stand movement in one piece of furniture. The ESI S2S is a desktop workstation that sits on your existing work surface and raises and lowers only the area you place on it. The decision comes down to whether you want to invest in a new desk footprint or keep the desk you already own and add height adjustability on top.
Storage and shelving: only one option includes it
The Gesso Transform includes storage and shelving as part of its design, which helps consolidate files, supplies, and display items into the desk itself. The ESI S2S does not include storage; it is a height-adjustable desktop platform only. If your office lacks nearby storage or you want an executive desk that keeps essentials within reach, the Gesso Transform solves that in one purchase. If you already have storage in place, the ESI S2S avoids duplicating it.
Sit-stand range and what each product actually moves
The Gesso Transform offers sit-to-stand features as part of the desk, so the entire work surface moves. The ESI S2S converts your existing work surface into a standing desk by raising and lowering the desktop workstation placed on it. Neither product's catalog facts specify height range, lifting capacity, or speed, so check those details with the store before you buy if you need precise ergonomic fit or plan to place multiple monitors on the moving surface.
Footprint, budget, and when the simpler option wins
A full executive desk like the Gesso Transform occupies the floor space of a traditional desk and adds storage and shelving, so measure your office before committing. The ESI S2S takes up only the area of the desktop workstation on your existing desk, which suits smaller offices or rented spaces where replacing furniture is impractical. The ESI S2S also has a lower catalog price, making it a practical entry point into sit-stand work; the Gesso Transform costs more but replaces both your desk and your storage.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Desk replacement vs. desktop add-on: The Gesso Transform is a complete desk with storage and shelving; the ESI S2S is a height-adjustable desktop workstation that sits on your existing desk. Choose based on whether you want to replace your desk or keep it. Measure your current desk and office floor space before deciding.
- Storage included vs. storage separate: Only the Gesso Transform includes storage and shelving. If you need built-in organization, the Gesso Transform avoids buying separate storage; if you already have storage, the ESI S2S prevents duplication. List the storage you already own before choosing.
- Whole-desk movement vs. surface-only movement: The Gesso Transform moves the entire work surface; the ESI S2S moves only the desktop workstation placed on your desk. Neither catalog fact specifies height range or capacity, so confirm those details with the store if you need exact ergonomic fit. Ask for height range and lifting capacity if you plan to place monitors or heavy equipment on the moving surface.
